Orbit Fold is the work of a six‑person studio split between Rotterdam and Taipei. We design and engineer one product at a time, and we ship it only when it is ready.
We are tired of disposable electronics, of products that exist to fill a category rather than solve a problem. Orbit Fold OF‑01 took two years and five prototype generations because we wanted a single object that would replace three.
The studio publishes its design and engineering process openly, maintains a long‑term repair programme, and chooses materials that age well rather than fail quietly.
We do not begin a second product until the first one is fully shipped and supported.
Every replaceable module is documented and stocked for a minimum of seven years from launch.
We prefer materials that develop a patina over those that degrade. Aluminium, glass, woven nylon.
We publish our suppliers, audit them annually, and avoid factories operating below industry labour standards.

Two industrial designers, two mechanical engineers, one electrical engineer, and one operations lead. Everyone reviews everything. We make decisions in person and we ship without committees.
